News: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition available for pre-order

Game have announced the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition is currently available for pre-order via their on-line store.  The Hardened Edition costs a whopping £89.99 and is available for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Wondering what bang you get for your buck?  Well, both versions come bundled with one years membership to COD Elite, which entitles you to future map pack DLC at no extra cost, along with assigning you founder status on the service, which promises to entitle you to even more "exclusive benefits".

A special theme or avatar item is included for the PS3 and 360 versions respectively and both versions will also be available in a premium case, complete with an exclusive field journal.  Also exclusive to those who pre-order through Game is Game's Classified Intel Pack.  The Intel Pack includes a Brady mini strategy guide, a special British Forces theme or avatar and a "Top Secret Item to be announced soon".

Is that enough to justify the price tag, when the bog standard version already costs £44.99?  We aren't sure, but what we are sure of is that excitement for the title is certainly building.  It will be interesting to see what Battlefield 3 offers in terms of special editions and pre-order benefits.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due for release on 8th November, 2011 and is available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
