News: Sega confirm two new Sonic games

Clearly having learned nothing from previous missteps regarding market saturation, as discussed in our recent hands-on with the Sonic Generations demo, Sega Mexico have confirmed plans to release two new Sonic games. The first is another entry in the Wii 'storybook' Sonic games, following Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight. Although the theme of the forthcoming 'storybook' Sonic game hasn't been confirmed, it's hard to muster excitement about the third instalment in a trilogy that has received decidedly middling reviews (Secret Rings, Black Knight).

The second game confirmed is another Sega Superstars game, again the third such game following Sega Superstars Tennis and Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing.

And all this after only last October Sega admitted to having made too many Sonic games...
