News: Europe getting extra content with new Monkey Island Special Edition bundle

Europe seems to be doing well in terms of game releases lately. Not only was the European only release of Xenoblade Chrnoicles announced a few weeks ago, but now LucasArts has announced a European exclusive for Monkey Island fans.

A new bundle pack is scheduled for release on September 9th and will include both special editions of The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, as well as exclusive bonus material.

The bonus material will be comprised of concept artwork for both special editions, the re-recorded soundtrack from both games and also concept work from the Monkey Island movie that never saw the light of day.

It's quite the treat for Monkey fans, though will probably sting a little if you have previously purchased and played both special editions. We can only hope that LucasArts' continued revivals spread to other classic action adventure games like, oh, lets say Grim Fandango. Seriously, are we on our own with that one?

The bundle will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
